Privacy Statement

This site doesn't use cookies for the general public, which is why you didn't see any of those irksome cookie consent notices. If you're just here to read or gawk, please do so with the assurance that I'm not trying to track you.

There is some basic logging that occurs to facilitate operations and troubleshooting on the site, but this isn't for metrics gathering, visitor profiling, or anything like that. While such metrics data might be useful to me, it doesn't seem to be worth the intrusion of shoving a cookie consent form in your face when you visit.1

Please enjoy your visit.

The rise of intrusive cookie consent forms is due to European laws requiring disclosure and opt-out choices. The idea was that web site operators would probably find such up-front consent forms an unpalatable experience and reduce or remove the dependence on cookies, but in practice the addiction is too strong and sites would rather enshittify everything than do less surveillance. As a private site operator, I have more leeway.
