Made a little vacation-ish spot in No Man's Sky. Fun build; this place looks pretty tranquil, as long as you don't mind the occasional roving static discharge.
I am actually a bit of a fan of NMS. Steam lovingly reports that I have played roughly 1,500 hours as I write this, although that number is certainly inflated from the number of times I've walked away from the game with it paused for hours. The game is by no means perfect, as a lot of its game mechanics end up being shallower than they seem at first, but it's fun, pretty, and really, really big. I have a soft spot for procedurally-generated worlds. My wife calls it "space pew-pew" and she shoots pirates when she's feeling particularly salty.
There's still one achievement in the game I haven't unlocked, which is reaching the center of the galaxy in Permadeath mode. I don't normally play games with permadeath enabled; it adds a level of tension (dare I say stress) to my play time that negates the relaxation factor. Still, having played the main game in Survival mode to the point where I am very well-established, I thought I might try it out and see how it goes. And, well, I haven't finished that project as it rarely feels like the right time for "that kind" of play.
